The Landing Well Fund supports efforts that help local seniors age in place with dignity.
The Landing Well Fund was inspired by a service project of Community United Methodist Church: an online resource guide launched in February 2025 to connect seniors in the Wet Mountain Valley with local wellness and service providers — LandingWellWMV.org, the website you see here, was born. The site offers summaries and contact information for providers across essential areas of daily life — home and personal care, transportation, nutrition, healthcare, lifestyle and wellness, and navigating transitions. In June 2025, in cooperation with Valley Strong, the online guide was made available to the community in a printed format distributed in the offices of local partners and supporters.
In October 2025, Landing Well partnered with the West Custer County Library to host a local Senior Fair, where more than 25 exhibitors shared their expertise and inspiration with nearly 100 local attendees. Events like these reflect our continuing goal: to support our neighbors and caregivers through information, connection, and community dialogue — helping all of us navigate the aging journey with confidence and grace. Mark your calendars for Friday, October 2nd for our 2026 event!
Looking Ahead
The Landing Well Fund will sustain and expand this work — supporting projects that help Custer County seniors remain safe, active, and engaged in the community they call home. We invite you to learn more, share your ideas, and join us in strengthening the circle of care that makes aging in place possible in the Wet Mountain Valley.
Advisory Group
Our efforts are guided by a local Advisory Council — the Custer County Consortium on Aging — which includes representatives from community organizations committed to serving older residents and their caregivers. Partners include the Central Colorado Area Agency on Aging, Custer County Public Health, Valley Assisted Living and Home Care, the West Custer County Hospital District, WMV Rotary, Community United Methodist Church, and others.
